Parent Association

The Parent Association is a group of dedicated parents working with the school to enhance the environment and experience of all involved at Canadian School Bahrain. The group works to build a sense of community and togetherness within the school families. The Parent Association's purpose is to support the school’s mission to develop students who are confident in their culture, empowering them to achieve academic excellence through nurturing moral values of integrity, responsibility, respect, and courage.

They do this by:

  • Fostering goodwill between parents, staff, students of the school and the public
  • Delivering opportunities for social exchange between all segments of the school
  • Actively promoting the aims and objectives of the school to the wider community

In October 2019 the first Parent Association meeting convened and a committee was formed. The Parent Association voted for Mr. Yusuf Al Khan as President and Mrs. Sara Abu Al Fateh as Vice President

Yusuf Al Khan
President Parent Association

Yusuf is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) from New Hampshire Board of Accountancy, USA. With over 13 years of experience in both government and private sectors, he has an exemplary record for strong financial acumen.

Yusuf has previously worked as a Financial advisor to the Electricity and Water Authority as well as an accounting expert to the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs.

Sara Abu Al-Fateh
Vice President Parent Association

Sara a seasoned Media and Public Relations professional with a background in financial services. She obtained a Bachelors’ degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Bahrain. Following a two–year stint at a wealth the Family Office Co, Sara shifted her career to Public Relations. In 2014 Sara took up the role of Executive Manager at Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) where she was handling Events and Public Relations. Currently, she works at Seef Properties.

Sara professionally stepped in front of the camera in 2007 as a reporter and newsreader for Bahrain International Television Chanel, and a few years later, joined the radio team as a newsreader at Radio Bahrain, 96.5FM. She hosts numerous special occasions shows on Television and is also a voice-over artist.

Ban Al-Turk
Secretary Parent Association

Ban Al-Turk grew up in Amman, Jordan. She graduated from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland with a Bachelors Degree in International Management with an emphasis in Marketing. Ban has a strong background in marketing having worked for over 10 years at a pharmaceutical company in the Procurement and Marketing Department. In 2008 she established her own business focused on children’s event planning.

Ban moved to Bahrain in 2019 and joined the Canadian School as Administrative Assistant.
